4th December 2018

Shearwater GeoServices hosted their annual European User Group Meeting on Wednesday 7th November at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, London, UK. Once again the meeting was well attended with clients from all over Europe including representatives from super-major oil & gas exploration companies, major contractors and consultants present.

The Reveal developers flew in from our Houston office to join their UK based colleagues in giving live demonstrations of the latest advances and developments. It was also an opportunity to introduce the new members of the Reveal team to the audience.

The team gave presentations and demos including updates to the user interface, depth imaging, statics and the implementation of the FWI code. As in previous years the audience participation and enthusiasm was high, with many questions being asked during and at the end of each session. To finish up the formal presentation section of the day the roadmap for the next 12 months was presented and led to a vibrant discussion.

The late afternoon break out session allowed for several one-on-one meetings to take place with our developers, where discussions around optimising workflows, best practice and what our clients want to see from Reveal in future updates went on long after 5pm and had to be continued in the pub.

As is customary the event was rounded off with an evening meal, and as we were in central London we were spoilt for choice. We were very pleased that several clients took us up on the offer and joined us in The Blue Boar.

We look forward to hosting another successful User Group Meeting for our European clients next year, and our North, Central & South American clients in early 2019!
