DECADES IN THE MAKING, GENERATIONS IN THE UNDERTAKING

When it looked like the world was pulling back from offshore exploration of conventional energy, Shearwater doubled down on its investment. We could see that energy security, and the demand for carbon capture, meant the seabed would continue to play a major role in decarbonising the planet.

We have become a significant business through this bold approach to both innovation in technology and operational practice. That pioneering spirit continues.

We innovate across the entire seismic process, from sensor to image. By looking after the entire system, we're poised to break through the industry's quality and cost curves.

It takes ingenuity to design underwater sensors that collect accurate information about the seabed and the rock beneath it.

To get there, we design nodes that sit on the ocean floor and sensors towed from surface vessels. This data becomes 2D, 3D and 4D imaging, revealing current characteristic and changes in reservoir behaviour overtime.

Our innovative approach enables our clients to understand the secrets of the ocean floor, reducing commercial risk and helping them make better decisions. The discoveries they then make improve energy security as the world transitions away from fossil fuels.
