Providing the best data quality and operational performance in the industry, the Qmarine and Isometrix systems have set new standards in seismic acquisition. Our eSource bandwidth-controlled seismic source technology preserves the low-frequency energy required for seismic exploration, while suppressing unwanted high-frequency energy.
Shearwater's towed streamer fleet is equipped with the world’s most advanced marine seismic acquisition technologies for exploration, reservoir delineation, characterization and monitoring.
Shearwater’s range of leading streamer technologies is the result of extensive research and engineering over many decades. Providing the best data quality and operational performance in the industry with Sercel Sentinel, Qmarine and Isometrix streamer systems have set new standards in seismic acquisition.
The Isometrix streamer introduced in 2012 is based on the Qmarine system. The streamer combines standard hydrophone (P) measurements with two accelerometer sensors recording the seismic pressure gradient in the vertical (Z) and cross cable (Y) directions. Dual-sensor measurements (PZ) enable receiver de-ghosting, providing deeper insight into the Earth’s complexity. Combining the three PZY measurements enables true 3D de-ghosting of the seismic wavefield.
The Qmarine point-receiver marine seismic system was launched in 2000 and introduced a number of new concepts to the towed-streamer market. Based on an integrated system composed of the recording, positioning and source subsystems, it features a solid gel-filled, zero-spill, point-receiver streamer. Unlike other systems all in-sea components such as acoustic positioning and streamer control devices (Q-Fins) are integral to the streamer which reduces noise and drag. Since its introduction, the system has successfully delivered across a wide range of basins and environments around the world.
Sercel Sentinel MS
Sentinel MS is the new member of the Sentinel product line offering multicomponent acquisition along with the, low noise, and reliability of the Sentinel streamer. In addition to the hydrophone, the multicomponent streamer features two additional acceleration components, providing vector measurements of the crossline and vertical wave front which are used for wavefield de-ghosting.
The Sercel Sentinel streamer is widely used in the seismic industry. It features solid construction, uniform ballast and vibration isolation capabilities that provides some of the best signal-to-noise characteristics in the industry. Sentinel streamers also offer high reliability, resulting in increased productivity. The system features the Nautilus streamer control system which is linked to the navigation system and allows streamers to be controlled laterally as well as in depth. The latest member of the Sentinel family, Sentinel® RD, has a reduced diameter, providing reduced cable drag and increased storage capacity onboard, which are important aspects of marine seismic operations.
