Safety is a key aspect of everyday work here at Shearwater. Whether onshore in our offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities or offshore on our vessels, maintaining the highest standards of safety ensures the well-being of our employees and clients, while driving successful operations on every global front.

The PACE (Preventing Accidents by Controlling Exposure) program is our flagship safety protocol that serves to prevent accidents before they happen, forming a key role in our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices on a global scale.

So what is PACE?

We would rather be "proactive rather than reactive." We make sure we can avert critical situations before they occur. By preventing this kind of mishap and controlling the at-risk behaviors involved, we can greatly reduce the exposure our employees may face daily, and when it comes to working offshore on our vessels, this is essential.

By embedding this culture of engagement and awareness, we enable our people to take responsibility for their safety and be part of the solutions addressing any challenge.

For our customers, a commitment to safety not only ensures efficiency in daily operations but also brings peace of mind, knowing that projects and activities are performed with the highest safety industry standards.

Operational reliability is key, especially in offshore operations. With this in mind, the PACE program makes sure our operations run smoothly in time-sensitive projects by minimizing downtime and delays.

Training our teams for success

Competency training is always an ongoing process. It requires continuous commitment and learning to understand the new norms, procedures, and initiatives taking place.

As the industry develops, and as projects continue to push forward, we see sustainable safety competence as the foundation within our workforce to continuously improve Shearwater’s safety culture.

Being able to provide the knowledge, skills, and experience through our PACE program ensures our workforce has the right skills and knowledge to tackle situations head-on and implement proactive preventative practices.

From a global perspective, every employee is committed to proactively implementing safety requirements in their workplace, and we can do this by participating in risk assessments, reporting hazards & near-misses, attending daily safety briefings, and stopping unsafe work if necessary, as part of our culture of accountability.

Efficiency and safety go hand-in-hand. From precision engineering and manufacturing, high-quality processing and imaging, performing complex surveys and OBN deployments to managing ROV operations and performing maintenance, minimizing our risk and reducing the probability of accidents ensure our operations can run smoothly, minimize downtime, and eliminate unnecessary delays.

The PACE program is a key enabler of our culture at Shearwater and serves as a reminder to lead by example in this seismic industry.
